Chillers can be used to lower temperatures in tank or vessel systems, heat exchangers, or individual pipes and lines in order to reduce the risk of product degradation and breakdowns.Chillers typically use a compressor, condenser, expansion device, and evaporator to operate. The compressor compresses refrigerant gas and sends it to the condenser where the gas is converted into liquid form.
The liquid then passes through the expansion device, where it is cooled and vaporized. The vapor is then sent to the evaporator where it is cooled, passing the cold air into a process cooling system. This cooler air circulates through a system, thus lowering the overall temperature.
Application
A chiller is an integral part of any industrial process cooling system, as it cools down highly concentrated liquids, products and processes. Chilling systems are used in a number of industries including food, beverage, automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, and even paper andpulp production.
